This etching of one of our olive trees was created in the hayloft at the top of the hill. Each etching is numbered and signed. The edition of prints is limited to 25 at which point the plate will be destroyed. No digital copies will be made.

About Etching:
A "ground" (acid resistant coating) is applied to a copper plate. The image is then drawn on the plate with a sharp point exposing the metal below. The plate is placed in a bath of ferric chloride and where the metal is exposed the lines are "bitten" into the metal. When cleaned ink is applied into the lines and wiped from the surface of the plate which is then placed, with dampened paper over the top, under a hand operated press. Pressure is applied by means of two steel rollers transfering the ink from the plate to the paper.
